Ubonile home page: Did you see? Help finding evidence after a crime

Overview

What it does

Our roleDesigned, built and operated by AINEXIM.

"Ubonile?" is isiZulu and isiXhosa for "Did you see?". After a crime, evidence is often already out there: a shop camera facing the street, a dashcam, a detail someone remembers. Most recorders erase footage within days, so speed matters.

A victim of crime or an investigating officer asks about one place and time. A moderator reviews the request before it is shared. Anyone who was there can reply privately from a browser, without installing an app or creating an account. Only the verified officer assigned to the case can review what is sent, and the person who asked sees progress, never the content or who sent it.

Ubonile is free and powered by AINEXIM. It is in a closed pilot while the launch checklist, including the Information Regulator's prior authorisation and evidence storage in South Africa, is completed.
